Description
The EQXHI10 is a 10-channel isolated high-voltage input expansion module designed to extend the EQSP32 Industrial IoT controller with wide-range AC, DC and pulsed voltage-presence sensing. Each module adds 10 high-voltage inputs arranged in two independently galvanically isolated groups of five, with a 5 to 380 V peak detection range, combining voltage-presence detection, per-input frequency analysis, live signal-quality reporting and configurable frequency-deviation supervision in a compact 2SU DIN-rail module.
This makes the EQXHI10 ideal for automation panels that need to observe line-voltage and control-voltage circuits directly, without interposing relays or external signal conditioners. Typical applications include contactor and motor-starter feedback, mains and phase presence detection, pump and fan run status, lighting circuit monitoring, safety chain and interlock supervision, generator and UPS changeover detection, machine state monitoring, and retrofits of existing control panels.
The input section provides 10 high-voltage input channels arranged in two independently galvanically isolated groups of five. Inputs IN1 to IN5 share the COM 1-5 terminal and inputs IN6 to IN10 share the COM 6-10 terminal. Multiple circuits sharing the same reference can be monitored within each group, while the two groups may use independent reference potentials. Each group is galvanically isolated from the controller electronics and from the other input group.
Each input detects the presence of voltage from 5 V up to 380 V peak and operates with AC, DC and pulsed signals. The module reports whether voltage is present, not how large it is: no voltage measurement is performed. Each energized channel draws approximately 1 mA from the monitored circuit, providing low and predictable input loading across the operating range. Input states are processed directly on the module and are read through the standard EQSP32 library API as digital inputs supporting current state, rising edge, falling edge and toggle trigger modes.
Beyond simple presence detection, the EQXHI10 independently measures the frequency of each input from 25 to 1000 Hz for AC and pulsed signals, while also supporting DC circuit supervision. It provides a live signal-quality indication based on frequency stability and deviation from the expected frequency. Frequency supervision can be configured for each input group, allowing persistent frequency deviations to be detected and reported individually for each input. This enables the application to distinguish between a circuit that is off, energized and healthy, or energized but operating abnormally, without additional sensing hardware or wiring.
Like all EQX expansion modules, the EQXHI10 is powered and controlled through the EQSP32 expansion connector, requiring no external module power supply or additional power wiring. It is automatically detected and indexed by the EQSP32 at power-up and operated through the standard EQSP32 library API. The expansion connectors carry the internal bus together with the supply rails, so modules simply chain together and address themselves automatically, with no jumpers or manual configuration. Up to 15 expansion modules can be combined and freely mixed on the same chain. Firmware updates are supported through the front-facing USB-C port, and integration is further simplified through EQ-AI code generation support.
Key Features of EQXHI10
- 10 High-Voltage Inputs: Ten AC, DC and pulsed voltage-presence input channels arranged in two independently isolated groups of five.
- Dual-Group Isolated Inputs: IN1–IN5 and IN6–IN10 form two independently galvanically isolated groups, each with its own common terminal and reference potential.
- AC, DC and Pulsed Detection: Each input detects the presence of AC, DC and pulsed field voltages.
- Wide Detection Range: Voltage presence is detected from 5 V up to 380 V peak.
- Low-Current Inputs: Each energized channel draws approximately 1 mA across the operating range, providing low and predictable loading of the monitored circuit.
- Fast Response: Voltage presence is detected in under 2 ms, with a 40 ms release hold.
- On-Module Input Processing: Stable voltage-presence states are processed locally by the module before being reported to the EQSP32.
- Digital Trigger Modes: Inputs support current state, rising edge, falling edge and toggle trigger modes through the EQSP32 library.
- Per-Input Frequency Detection: Independent 25–1000 Hz frequency detection for AC and pulsed signals, with DC circuit supervision support.
- Live Signal Quality: Per-input signal-quality reporting indicates frequency stability and deviation from the expected frequency.
- Configurable Frequency Supervision: Expected frequency and allowed deviation can be configured independently for each input group.
- Frequency-Deviation Status: Persistent deviation from the expected frequency is reported per input for fault handling.
- Automatic Addressing: Modules self-address on the expansion chain, with no jumpers or manual configuration required.
- Multi-Module Support: Up to 15 expansion modules can be combined and freely mixed on the same chain.
- Automatic Detection: EQXHI10 is automatically detected and indexed by EQSP32 upon power-up for a plug-and-play experience.
- Seamless Integration: Input states, quality values and frequency supervision are accessed through the provided library API and the EQ-AI code generation assistant.
- Field-Upgradable Firmware: Firmware updates can be applied via the front-facing USB-C port.
- Visual Indicators: Power and Status LEDs for easy monitoring.
- Compact Design: Fits on standard DIN-rail, 2SU module width (36 mm).
- Connection: After mounting the module on the DIN-rail, simply slide it to connect with EQSP32 via the board-to-board connector.
- No External Supply: The module is powered directly through the EQSP32 expansion connector.
