EQConnect is the smartphone companion for the EQSP32 industrial IoT controller. Connect over Bluetooth, provision Wi-Fi, set the timezone, and configure MQTT — all at installation time, without opening a laptop. Then watch every I/O pin live, wirelessly, without opening the cabinet.
Approach the cabinet, open the app, select the controller — then commission or monitor, in any order.
Every setting an EQSP32 needs to go live — network credentials, MQTT broker, device name, static IP, timezone — is configured at installation time over Bluetooth. No laptop, no USB cable, no firmware rebuild required on site.
Set SSID and password over BLE. EQConnect provisioning overrides developer firmware defaults. Ship a safe default, let the installer set the real network on site.
Select continent, country, and city from a full worldwide database. The correct POSIX timezone string (including DST transitions) is written to the device. Essential for schedules, alarms, and log timestamps.
Choose DHCP or assign a fixed IP address. Critical for Modbus TCP masters, local web servers, SCADA systems, and any device that must reach the EQSP32 at a predictable address.
Configure MQTT username and password for broker authentication. Works with Home Assistant, Node-RED, and any MQTT-compliant broker. No broker code needed in the sketch.
Enable or disable MQTT auto-discovery per device. The EQSP32 advertises its entities directly to Home Assistant. No manual entity configuration, no YAML editing required.
Set the credential used for Over-The-Air firmware updates. Change it in the field without opening an enclosure or connecting a cable.
Assign a friendly name to each installation. One EQConnect account can manage unlimited EQSP32 controllers, each identified by name, not by MAC address or device ID.
A built-in bidirectional serial terminal over Bluetooth. Send commands and read firmware responses in real time, the wireless equivalent of a USB serial monitor, without a cable or a laptop.
EQMonitor shows the live state of every I/O channel on the connected controller, streamed over Bluetooth in real time. The EQSP32 has no diagnostic LEDs for I/O — they are not needed. EQMonitor gives you more than a LED ever could: the actual PWM duty cycle on a dimmer output, the measured value on an analog input, the counter reading on a pulse channel. No cabinet door, no multimeter, no serial cable needed.
All 16 I/O lines show as green (active) or grey (off). Confirm an output is energised or an input is switching without touching the panel.
Channels configured as analog inputs display the measured value in real time — voltage, current, or raw ADC counts depending on the signal type. PWM outputs show their current duty cycle, not just an on/off state. This is what diagnostic LEDs cannot do.
Supply and output voltages are shown in VDC in real time. Useful for diagnosing power supply issues and verifying that load voltage is present.
All connected EQX expansion modules are listed automatically. Confirm the controller recognises every module in the stack and view the live status of each module's I/O ports.
The running system time is displayed continuously. Verify that scheduled outputs and time-of-day automation are triggering at the correct moments without connecting a serial monitor.
